Shutterstock Books of Remembrance
ART DIRECTION, DESIGN. PRINT.
To sell millions of digital images, we printed a magazine.
As Shutterstock expanded its editorial library to compete with Getty, we faced a familiar challenge: how do you get busy editorial buyers to stop scrolling and start paying attention? Our answer was surprisingly analog.
We created a limited-run series of oversized, beautifully printed editorial publications that showcased topical photography alongside compelling stories and quotes. Designed as conversation starters rather than sales collateral, they gave Shutterstock's sales team a memorable way to introduce the breadth and quality of the collection while staying top of mind with editors and buyers.
During my time, we produced two editions. The first explored defining moments from Academy Awards history, dating back to the very first ceremony. The second celebrated the life and legacy of Princess Diana, released ahead of the 20th anniversary of her passing.
